Book Fair

Mark your calendars –November 4th, 5th, 8th and 9th. The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school and we are thrilled to offer this literary event to our students. It is a special event for our entire school community, which I am sure you will not want to miss. Our book fair gives you and your child the opportunity to buy carefully selected, quality books and products. I will send home more info as the date draws closer.

Book Return

Please, parents, conduct a search - at home, under your kids’ beds, in vehicles or even Grandparent’s homes for St. Patrick’s library books. We still have a large amount of books not returned from last school year! The cost to replace these missing books is something we hope not to have to do.

Thanks! Mrs. J

MS Read-A-Thon

Our school has decided to participate in the Ms Read-A-Thon which promotes reading and disability awareness. Pledge sheets were sent home with your child last Tuesday and this program will run for the next three weeks. (Feb 22nd – March 15th) After the 15th of March the students can bring in their cheques or money order in the Ms Read-A-Thon envelope and give to their classroom teacher. Mrs Joblonkay is hoping that ALL the children will have the envelopes / money in by March 22nd and she can send it in.

Thank you To Jackie Bonetti and Leanne Bos for their help in getting new books on to the shelves.

Book Round-Up!

I have recently noticed that there are lots of books outstanding from the Library, particularly from the easy read section. I would like parents to give their kid a reminder about books they are not using, and encourage a bit of a hunt around the house for strays. Thanks!

Ms Read-A-Thon Runs from February 22nd – March 15th (3 weeks)

A Speaker from the MS Read-a-Thon will be coming on Tuesday, Feb. 23rd at 9:45 in the gym. There will be a 30 minute presentation and then a short video. The MS representative will talk on the disease and then explain the reading program. After the presentation the students will be given an envelope with a pledge sheet. The children can start collecting pledges.

After the 15th of March the students can bring in their cheques or money order in the Ms Read-A-Thon envelope and give to their classroom teacher. I am hoping that ALL the children will have the Envelopes / money in by March 22nd and I can send it in.

Thanks from Mrs. Joblonkay
